I want to replace the original spikes on EUPHONIA MS4, MS5 or AS2. What is the thread size of the threaded inserts in the bottom of the speakers?

M12 (12mm metric thread size).

I want to replace the original spikes on MENTOR 5, 6, 8 or SUB. What is the thread size of the threaded inserts in the bottom of the speakers?

M10 (10mm metric thread size).

I want to replace the original spikes on IKON 5, 6, 7, 8 or SUB. What is the thread size of the threaded spike feet?

M8 (8mm metric thread size).

Which amplifier/receiver should I choose for a DALI speaker?

Generally we recommend choosing a good amplifier with neutral sound characteristics and sufficient power capabilites. When that is said, it is very individual, which amplifier will suit a given music system setup. There are a number of factors that will influence the choise:
What is the sensitivity of the loudspeaker (the lower the sensitivity, the more amplifier power is needed to produce a given sound pressure), how small/large is the room (the larger room, the more power is needed to reproduce a given sound pressure), the quality of the speaker (the better speaker, the better amplifier is needed).
On top of these factors, ad the fact, that personal preference will also have an influence on the amplifier selection.
We therefore recommend, that you get advice from your authorized DALI dealer reagarding amplifier selection.

My speakers have a bright sound - what can be done to avoid that?

1) Do not toe-in the speakers towards the listening position. The front of the speaker must be parallel with the rear wall.

2) Avoid positioning the speakers too close to reflecting side walls that will cause strong reflection of the midrange- and tweeter sound.

3) Avoid using cables and electronic equipment in your music system with a bright sound character.

The bass of my speakers sounds boomy - what is wrong?

The acoustics of your listening room has a huge impact on the performance of your music system, particularly the position of the speakers and the listening position is heavily affected. If the speakers are positioned close to a corner or a rear wall, the bass will often be accentuated.
Moving the speakers away from a corner or a rear wall will typically make the bass more precise. If your listening position is close to a wall the bass level will typically also be increased.
Moving the listening position away from the wall will typically attenuate the bass level.

The bass of my speakers sounds weak - what is wrong?

The acoustics of your listening room has a huge impact on the performance of your music system, particularly the position of the speakers and the listening position is heavily affected.
If the speakers are positioned some distance from a rear wall or a corner of your listening room, try moving the speakers closer to the wall or corner. That will typically increase the level of the bass.
Moving the listening position closer to the rear wall will typically also increase the bass level.

My speakers can be used with spikes and rubber feet between the speakers and the floor - what should I choose and what is best?

Whether you should choose spikes or rubber feet depends on your listening room and the character of the sound.
It is difficult to give a general answer on which solution is best. Therefore we recommend trying both options so that you can find out, what sounds best in your listening room and with your speakers.
Please note that spikes might damage your floor, unless you use protective tabs under the spikes.
On most DALI speakers both rubber feet and spikes are included with the speakers.

I have a 150W amplifier and I will like to buy a pair of IKON 5 loudspeakers which are rated to maximum 125W - will that work?

Yes as long as you do not play too loud with the amplifier.
When a speaker is overloaded it is actually often done by an amplifier that is too weak because it will start distorting when the amplifier is overdriven.
A distorted signal sent to the loudspeakers will very often overload the tweeter and the midrange. Therefore the rule is, that the sound must not sound distorted when you play it at high volume levels.

Why do you use two tweeters in some of your speakers?

DALI use a soft dome tweeter combined with a ribbon tweeter to obtain great sound in a larger area in front of the speakers.
All dome tweeters are focusing the sound in a narrow beam at the highest tones/frequencies.
A ribbon tweeter can spread the sound - even at high frequencies. Therefore the combination of a soft dome tweeter and a ribon tweeter enables the speaker to reproduce the full spectrum of sound in a large area in front of the speakers.
